Stars Reach
Stars Reach enters Early Access on August 18, 2026, for PC. Developed and published by Playable Worlds, Inc., this science-fantasy MMORPG places every player inside a single shared galaxy filled with simulated planets that react physically to what happens around them. Rivers can flood, forests burn, lava hardens into new terrain, wildlife migrates, and resources can be depleted or recover over time. Players explore planets and space, build homes and settlements, craft equipment, establish governments, trade through a player-driven economy, fight hostile creatures, and combine dozens of skill paths instead of committing to a fixed class.

Review

Stars Reach is built around the idea that an MMO world should remember what its players do. Terrain, water, fire, ecosystems, and resources are simulated rather than treated as static scenery, so building a settlement or extracting materials can have consequences for everyone who visits the same planet later.
That simulation feeds naturally into exploration. Players travel through wormholes, visit different worlds, establish homesteads, gather materials, and eventually spend time in space as well. There is no fixed class structure. Dozens of skill paths cover combat, crafting, architecture, trade, exploration, and other professions, allowing characters to combine specialties as their role in the galaxy develops.
Community systems are equally important. Buildings and crafted items can generate experience when other players use them, settlements can establish governments, and resources enter a unified galactic economy. That gives construction and commerce more purpose than simply accumulating personal wealth.
The biggest uncertainty is scale. Simulating environments, economies, settlements, governments, and a large shared population creates plenty of opportunities for instability or unexpected balance problems. Early Access is expected to last at least six months, with more worlds, creatures, professions, and optimization planned.
Its social focus may also disappoint players looking primarily for structured quests or heavily directed storytelling.
Verdict: An unusually ambitious sandbox MMO where environmental simulation, player-built societies, and a shared economy matter more than following a conventional quest chain.
