R.E.P.O. is in Early Access on PC (Steam), first arriving on November 19, 2024, with ongoing updates through 2025. Developed and published by 1M Bits Horde, it’s a co-op horror shooter where you sweep abandoned facilities, grab samples, and try not to get shredded by whatever’s nesting there. Think tight corridors, light management, and extraction runs that get noisy if you rush.

Review

Runs are short, stressy, and often messy. That’s the fun. You gear up, pick a route, and listen for tells in the static. The game leans on sound more than spectacle, which suits the cramped maps and keeps comms lively. Enemies react to light and movement, so teams that actually coordinate get farther than squads that sprint and hope.
Progression stays lean. New tools open alternate paths instead of brute power bumps, and the economy punishes sloppy exits. Performance is decent on mid-range PCs, though frame drops happen when particle effects and enemy swarms stack in small rooms. AI pathing can stumble on geometry, especially on stairs, but patches have been regular.
If you want story, it’s background noise. If you want a weekend co-op loop you can teach to friends in ten minutes, it lands.
Verdict: Scrappy, loud, and better with a headset and a patient squad.
