Mohrta releases on October 14, 2025 for PC (Steam). Developed by Scumhead and Osiol, published by Scumhead. A nonlinear FPS that drifts between gothic western and fever dream. You pick the order of huge zones, chase keys and upgrades, and wrestle with weapons that all have quirks. It is fast when you want it, cautious when a boss is near, and strange in a way that makes you look twice at walls and light.

Review

Mohrta feels handmade. Levels sprawl without wasting your time, with sightlines that teach you where a secret might hide. Guns are multi‑tool oddities rather than simple damage sticks. A blade that doubles as a launcher. A rifle that changes behavior if you feed it better parts. Movement carries weight, but a well‑timed strafe or hop still buys space when a big swing whiffs next to your head.
The tone runs thick. Filters, harsh shadows, and a score that hums more than it shouts. NPCs read like warnings more than quest givers. That helps the pacing, since exploration and fights share the same nervous energy. It is not a corridor shooter. You make route choices, get lost, then realize a shortcut was staring at you near the start.
Caveats: the engine can chug if you ignore settings on older cards, and the minimum specs lean on OpenGL support. Expect a little shader hitching on first boot. Keybinds deserve a tweak if you are used to twitch shooters. Still, the loop hits. Learn the space, pick your battles, and let the weird sink in.
Verdict: moody, flexible FPS that rewards curiosity and stubborn aim.
