Mistfall Hunter releases on July 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by Bellring Games and published by Skystone Games, this third-person PvPvE extraction action RPG takes place after fallen gods leave the world consumed by the deadly Gyldenmist. Revived by a mysterious girl named Dew, players become Gyldhunters tasked with gathering Gyldenblood and repairing the shattered Web of Fate. Each expedition combines dark fantasy melee combat, class-based abilities, dangerous creatures, rival players, valuable equipment, and the constant decision between extracting safely or risking everything for better loot.

Review

Mistfall Hunter adapts the extraction formula around close-range action rather than firearms. Players enter hostile areas alone or in three-person squads, search for equipment and Gyldenblood, fight monsters and competing Gyldhunters, and then decide when to reach a Returner Woodling and escape. Death means losing the spoils carried during that expedition, so every extra room or enemy encounter becomes a calculated risk.

Combat uses free aiming, directional attacks, combos, tactical items, and weak-point targeting. Six classes launch with two weapon stances each, allowing players to change fighting styles during an encounter instead of remaining tied to one narrow moveset. Talent trees, active skills, equipment, and gem affixes provide additional control over damage, mobility, defense, and crowd control.

The dark fantasy presentation suits the extraction structure well. Ruined environments, corroded creatures, heavy armor, and glowing arcane effects create an oppressive world where valuable loot rarely feels safe. PvE threats also prevent matches from becoming straightforward player hunts, particularly when large monsters interrupt an already tense confrontation.

The greatest concern is balance. Strong equipment and optimized squads could make new or solo players vulnerable before they properly learn the combat. The extraction loop may also become repetitive when repeated losses erase a long period of progress.

Verdict: A convincing blend of dark fantasy action and extraction tension, supported by flexible classes, weighty melee combat, and meaningful risk during every expedition.
