Goodnight Universe launches on November 11, 2025 for PC (Steam). From Nice Dream with publishing by Skybound Games, it puts you in the tiny shoes of Isaac, a baby with strange powers. The hook is simple: listen, poke at the room, read the signals no one else catches. What starts in a crib grows into a weirder story about family, science, and what you can’t explain. Small spaces, careful puzzles, and scenes that play out like short films.

Review

The setup could have gone gimmicky, but Goodnight Universe treats Isaac’s point of view with restraint. Rooms feel close, sound design does a lot of heavy lifting, and interactions stay readable even when the scene tilts into the surreal. The pacing lands in short bursts, then pauses, then another small spike. That rhythm helps the story breathe.
Puzzles lean tactile: rotate, align, listen for a tone, try again. Some moments are fussy, especially when the interaction hotspot is thin, but the feedback is clear enough that you rarely stall. The best bits turn ordinary objects into clues about the people in the house. You don’t get big exposition dumps, you get crumbs that add up.
Performance on PC should be light given the scale, though we’ll reserve judgment until the full build lands. The demo hints at stable frame times, with minor camera snags near edges. Nothing that kills the mood.
Verdict: Smart perspective, cozy scope, and just odd enough to stick with you.
