Review

The remaster keeps what mattered and sands down rough edges. Lordran’s layout remains the star, with routes that fold into each other and reward map memory. Combat is measured and readable, and weapon infusions still open real build paths early. Texture work is cleaner and lighting is more consistent, though the biggest win is stability in busy zones.
Some areas still show their age. Blighttown is better but not perfect, and netcode quirks can intrude on invasions. On balance, this is the best way to play the classic on modern hardware.
Verdict: faithful, stable, and still a masterclass in world design.
