VEIN releases on October 24, 2025 for PC (Steam, Early Access). Developed and published by Ramjet Studios. A post‑apocalyptic survival sandbox where seasons, storms, and roaming threats keep plans fragile. You scavenge, fortify safehouses, maintain vehicles, and learn how AI senses you by sight, sound, and smell. The map grows over time, with towns, forests, and points of interest that reward patience more than bravado.

Review

VEIN works when you slow down. Routes are problems to solve, not lines to sprint. You mark noise traps, peek angles, and treat daylight like a resource. Combat is rough, the good kind. A clean burst buys space, a bad shot calls half a street. Base building ties runs together without turning into busywork, and vehicles feel like commitments rather than toys. The best moments are quiet: a locked house that finally gives, or a detour that finds a working alternator right when you need it.
Co‑op adds nerves. One friend scouts, another hauls, a third covers with a half‑broken rifle. The AI sells threat with simple rules that stack into nasty surprises. Performance on mid PCs should be fine if you respect settings, though first boots may hitch while shaders warm. Early Access means the map and systems will expand, but the spine already feels solid.
Caveats: CPU demands are unclear on the Steam page, and recommended RAM is steep. Expect balance swings as patches land. Still, the loop hits. Plan, creep, fix what breaks, and live long enough to see the seasons turn.
Verdict: tense survival that rewards caution and small wins.
