You return as Will, shopkeeper by day and dungeon runner by night, now stranded in the frontier town of Tresna. Runs feed your store, your store funds better gear, and the town grows as you invest. The new Endless Vault throws score‑chasing trials at you, while three early biomes, four weapon types, and perk‑driven builds shape each attempt. The loop is simple, but the choices around pricing, haggling, and cutting a run early keep the tension alive.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault doubles down on the split life. You clear a path through colorful dungeons, pack your bag to the brim, then pivot to pure merchant mode. Pricing goods still matters. So does reading customer tells and deciding when to fleece or when to build loyalty. Combat is cleaner than the first game, with snappier dodges and clearer hitboxes, and four weapon families give you enough depth without drowning you in stats. Perks stack in fun ways. A bag tweak here, a shop charm there, and suddenly a run that looked shaky turns into profit.

The structure works because every decision echoes. Push deeper for rare relics, or bail early to bank what you have. Invest in Tresna to unlock better gear, which pushes the ceiling of the next run. The Endless Vault adds bite, turning that push and pull into short, focused challenges that respect your time.

Caveats, and fair ones: it is Early Access. Balance can swing, some menus feel placeholder, and the camera gets busy in crowded rooms. Performance is light on most rigs, but effects spam can drop frames. Even so, the heart of it lands. The shop, the runs, the little risks that make you grin when a price tag hits just right.

Verdict: tight loop, stronger fights, and plenty of room to grow.
