Riot Games set the date: 2XKO enters Early Access on October 7. The announcement came via video on Tuesday (23) after a short closed-beta phase and marks the first “live” version of the League of Legends-universe tag fighter. The studio describes this start as a bigger step, with more content than previous tests and a defined pace of new releases for the initial period.
Early Access opens to the broader public, no playtest invites needed. The focus is to ship a stable base package—launch roster locked for the start, an inaugural season pass, and system challenges—while the team tunes balance, netcode, and quality-of-life as the playerbase scales up.
What to expect at launch
The core remains duo play: two players per team, with calls and combo extensions built around partner synergy. If you played the tests, expect targeted reworks to returning champions, frame-data adjustments, and a set of tasks meant to drill bread-and-butter routes for your duo. The meta will likely move in week one, so keep an eye on patch notes and any ranked-queue adjustments as hotfixes land.
The initial roadmap points to short content intervals, with system updates and, over the following weeks, roster additions and mode refreshes. If you plan to jump in on day one, this is the moment to lock controls, practice basic routes with your partner, and track the first balance passes that typically arrive right after servers open.
